OSCAR -Online System for Comprehensive Activity Reporting
Updated 29 June 2009
NEWS
As part of the NGER Project corporations can now commence data entry into OSCAR. This allows corporations that have received confirmation of their registration to meet their obligations under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007. The Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Office is offering limited Introductory Workshops for registered corporations and those likely to be required to report. It is mandatory for registered corporations under the NGER Act to enter their reports via OSCAR.
To help corporations meet their obligations under the NGER Act we recommend attendance at these free workshops, which are being rolled out in all major capital cities during June and July 2009.
For more information visit OSCAR Introductory Workshops for NGER.
The outcome of the responses to the Electronic Data Upload discussion paper, which was released for public consultation in October 2008, is now available.
ABOUT OSCAR
OSCAR is a web–based data collection tool for recording of energy, waste and greenhouse data for Government program reporting. OSCAR allows you to gain a clear picture of your organisation's emissions. OSCAR can automatically calculate your organisation's greenhouse emissions based on your organisation's energy and emissions data.
USING OSCAR
OSCAR is used by a number of programs administered by various Federal and State / Territory Governments to collect energy and emissions data. Some of these programs include reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act 2007 and the Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) program.
To reduce the burden of duplicative reporting, OSCAR facilitates the cross-program sharing of common data, saving time and effort.
HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO OSCAR?
To gain access to OSCAR you will need to register to report under NGER, EEO or be part of a government reporting program. Please contact the relevant area or program for further information.
Once you have registered with a program, you will be given access to OSCAR. Your login will enable you to access OSCAR via a standard web browser.
It is the responsibility of each user to protect the confidentiality of individual login details for OSCAR. The Department of Climate Change will not be liable for any damage or loss as a result of a user, the corporation a user represents, or a third party, improperly accessing OSCAR using the user's username and password. If you know or suspect that your login details have been compromised, or any other security breach has occurred, you should notify your program manager immediately.
